It was a titanic battle, with both sides claiming victory at various stages of the dispute, but finally it looks like the matter has been settled. One gets the sense, though, that it’s only a temporary solution. For now at least, let’s give a tentative but warm welcome to the news that yes, Force India are keeping their motorhome.
On the track today, a lot of things happened that I might have watched on the BBC’s interactive practice loop had I not been working my way through a chicken tikka makhoni and garlic nan bread instead. I didn’t because I was, though looking at the variable weather conditions and the cars at the head of things (Force India in the top few cars in both sessions, Hamilton quickest in FP2) it’d seem there’s not a lot of worth to be said in any case.
Tomorrow we’ll weigh up as usual once the working day is done, and at some point on Sunday, Monday or later there’ll be some thoughts on the German Grand Prix.
